Jagiellonian University in Krakow

  Jagiellonian University

The ancient Jagiellonian University was founded in 1364 after King Casimir the Great received permission from the Pope.

Perhaps the most famous alumni are Pope John Paul II and Nicolaus Copernicus although for several centuries all of Poland's intellectuals studied here. Regarded as the 3rd oldest university in Europe Jagiellonian is still very much a modern university with over 27,000 students
